Nowadays many people assume that commuting to work and doing the job at the company can boost the workers’ productivity, while some others believe that working from home serves a better option for employees. This essay will discuss both points of view and in the concluding paragraph, I will include my personal stance regarding the issue.

On the one hand, there are at least two main reasons why some people fancy WFO. Firstly, working from the office offers a more conducive working environment that brings very minimal distraction. Unlike working from home where workers can be easily distracted by other things such as sudden visitors or unwanted noises, working from the office is supported by a company building designed in such a way as to keep workers focused. Secondly/In addition to that, easy access to working supplies and facilities, for example, copy machines, printers, and meeting rooms become the next factor that makes employees prefer WFO over WFH. Therefore, working from the office is still considered to be an effective way to achieve a high rate of productivity.

On the other hand, many other people choose to work from home primarily because it is more efficient in terms of cost, energy, and time. When doing work from home, people do not need to commute to work. This means workers do not have to spend hours on the street and no gas fee is required as well. As an example, /Some reports reveal that, in Indonesia, during Covid 19 pandemic when people had to do everything at home, many people admitted they had more time to do their work because they did not have to travel to work. Hence/Thus/That is why WFH nowadays is gaining more popularity among workers.

In conclusion, working from the office is still favored by some people because it brings a little amount of distraction and easier access to work necessities. However, personally, I believe that working from home suits the current situation better as it is much more efficient in terms of budget, time, and energy.
