Travel modes changes between 1985 and 2000 in England is informed in given table. In general, almost all travellers’ distances in several modes of travel were increased substantially in England during that period.

In several modes of transport, within 15 years, cars exhibited a significant increase, which accounted for 4806 miles travelled per person per year in 2000, in comparison with just 3199 in 1985. The similar trends were also shown in long distance bus, train, taxi, and other modes of transport from 54 to 124 miles, 289 to 366, 13 to 42, and 450 to 585, respectively.

However, different patterns were exhibited for walking and bicycle. Walking, which constituted 255 miles in 1985, was considerably more common than bicycle at that moment as a mode of transport, which made up 51 miles. 15 years later, walking was decreased by miles per person slightly from 255 to 237 miles, as well as bicycles decreased theirs from 51 to 41 miles travelled per person each year.
